To End All Wars is the true story of a group of Allied prisoners in a Japanese labor camp during World War II. To stay sane the prisoners often discussed what they will do when the war is over. One soldier will get married, another plans to be a teacher. But when they ask the Colonel what he will do, he simply says, “Start preparing for the next war.”

As followers of Christ we too find ourselves in a protracted battle against sin, and it seems that as one battle ends, another rises to take its place. Christ called is to remain in the fight against sin and temptation no matter our age or position. God’s people, regardless of their circumstances, have always been called to be holy. Even while in exile, God expected the people of Israel to be His set-apart nation.

John writes to the Church in Revelation, “Revelation 2:10 Stop being afraid of what you are about to suffer—for the devil will soon throw some of you into prison to test you. You will be persecuted for ‘ten days.’ Remain faithful even when facing death and I will give you the crown of life”

This Sunday as we continue the “RE” series we will examine the attitudes necessary to RE-main faithful even in the most difficult of seasons as we look at the latter life of Daniel.
