We live in a world today that is as hectic as any time in history. Most Americans, when asked, will tell you that they are busy and seldom able to catch a spare moment to enjoy life. We’ve been sold a thousand gadgets that are designed to save time and resources and yet we seem to be more tired, more hurried, and wearier than ever. The truth is that we’ve been fooled, peace cannot be found in the latest device, a self-help book, a new schedule manager, or a retreat destination. Peace is a condition of the heart.
One of the most overlook attributes of Scripture is how God’s plan for life really simplifies the way we live. Last week we talked about how Godly principles can change the way we plan and use our time, and this week we’re going to consider how the interpersonal concepts taught by Jesus and others simplify our relationships.
“So then, let us rid ourselves of everything that gets in the way, and of the sin which holds on to us so tightly, and let us run with determination the race that lies before us.” Hebrews 12:1b
